The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

17 universal goals were adopted by world leaders in September 2015, with a deadline of 2030. Known as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), these goals are wide-ranging, encompassing social, economic and environmental issues.

These goals build on the successes and shortcomings of the 8 Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) which were adopted by world leaders in September 2000, with a deadline of 2015.
