UN 50+ country consultations
The UN Development Group is running inclusive national consultations in 50+ countries to stimulate the debate on the post-2015 development agenda, from June 2012 to early 2013.
These outreach exercises would complement formal consultations led by the UN’s Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) on behalf of the General Assembly (GA), and others that the UN is supporting such as those in preparation of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20).
In an initial step, 50 countries will be supported (see table below, click on it to enlarge). However, UNDP's aim is to facilitate the largest possible number of national consultations. Thus this provisional list does not preclude support to other countries.
In June 2012, the Guidelines for Country Dialogues were made available by UNDG. You can download the booklet here.
Beyond 2015 called all participating organizations in July 2012 to engage in the national consultations and provided the updated Beyond 2015/GCAP/UN MC toolkit for national deliberation, additional information for to reach out to UN country teams and further guidance.
