InterAction Forum 2012
Plenary Session: What Should Replace the MDGs?
Date: 30th April 2012, 3:15 p.m.-4:45 p.m.
Place: Crystal Gateway Mariott, 1700 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington Virginia, USA
In 2015, the first round of the MDGs will be complete. How successful the MDGs have been in driving development and whether they will be “met” , by whom and what it means to meet them is a subject of vigorous debate; that debate must be coupled with a critical evaluation of how the MDGs might be framed for the future and what the MDGs in a 2015 to 2030 frame might mean for the world. Should the MDGs be reimaged with a new frame—the environment, human rights, equitable growth?
Featuring:
- Bill Sweeney, CEO, International Foundation for Electoral Systems
- Charles Kenny, Senior Fellow, Center for Global Development
- David Yang, Director, Office of Democracy and Governance, USAID
